Becca Clagg is our Featured Travel Nurse of the Month for November 2018. Her permanent state of residence is Texas. She is currently on a travel nurse assignment in New Haven, CT
We asked Becca to share her experience and adventures as a Travel Nurse…
How long have you been traveling?
What has been your favorite city/town to work in?
On my first travel assignment in New Haven, but it’s been a GREAT experience. I extended an additional 8 weeks, so I must like it!
What do you love most about being a Travel Nurse?
Getting to meet new people, to see and experience different places. I’ve traveled a ton around New England, I’ve already seen and done so much, and crossed things off my bucket list, and this is just assignment one!
Describe your most memorable Travel Nursing Experience.
Riding a bike around Block Island a couple weeks after I got here was awesome! I decided to just take the ferry out for the day and I spent the whole day just exploring the island and riding around. It was an experience I didn’t know I’d love so much! Also, getting to go to NYC! I’ve been once already and loved it and going back in December. NYC for the holidays all lit up is a bucket list item for me and I can’t wait!
What advice do you have for a first-time traveler?
Get super comfortable with going and doing things alone if you don’t you could miss SO much! But also, don’t be afraid to just go on day trips and adventures with other travelers/people you just met! The friendships may just be for a contract, but it’s worth opening yourself up to it!
