We asked Christi to share her experience and adventures as a Travel Nurse…
How long have you been traveling?
3 years full time
What has been your favorite city/town to work in?
What would you like to share with travelers about you?
I am a US Navy Veteran, single mom of a 22 year old daughter, mom to two adorable travel cats, and a true gypsy and wanderer at heart.
What do you love most about being a Travel Nurse?
Meeting new people, making awesome friends and the never-ending experience, both professionally and personally. The flexibility and freedom in Travel Nursing has allowed me to cross items off my bucket list!
Describe your most memorable Travel Nursing Experience(s)?
I have had many great experiences but two stand out the most. The first would be getting to take my daughter on her first trip to New York City. The delight and pure joy on her face when we flew in and she saw the Statue of Liberty for the first time. It was worth everything in the world to me! My second most memorable experience was last year when I was able to travel to Salem, Massachusetts for Halloween with one of my closest friends. We had such an amazing time!
What advice do you have for a first-time traveler?
Be comfortable with being alone – this traveling life can feel very lonely at times. Keep a substantial savings account – you will need it when you least expect it. Be flexible and open minded when choosing assignments. The best experiences are usually the place you didn’t think you wanted to visit. Get out and EXPLORE! Most importantly, Have Fun! Live your best life.
God Bless all my fellow travelers out there. – Christi Hobbs, RN
